Mission

Jazz o Tech is a Berlin/Milan based label that takes inspiration from the freeform creative nature of those two musical worlds, and manifests it by putting together jazz musicians with techno producers. Each artist then shares, learns and creates with a new set of influences and reference points. The thrilling result is genre-blurring new music as well as exciting new live shows that head in bold yet playful new directions.

At Jazz o Tech, we think that modern music needs to be ambitious. It must aim to deliver a musical message which is one step beyond what has already been heard. It must take you on new musical journey into unknown dimensions and emotions. Continuing in the same spirit of those early jazz and underground electronic pioneers, the label is focussed on the development of a style that is free from any kind of genre constraints, set structures, tired rhythms, lazy samples or obvious moods.

Instead, Jazz o Tech wants to encourage innovation, bravery and live techniques that make every performance and every track dense with musical ideas and full of soul.

The label has already published a number of vinyl and digital releases, and organises regular From Jazz to Techno events in Berlin and Milan. Each night long party follows an innovative format where exciting live techno-jazz performances alternate with pumping yet experimental DJ sets, and jazz musicians improvise live and on the spot in collaboration with DJs and producers. As a result, From Jazz to Techno parties have proven hugely successful in techno clubs, but also in jazz clubs and indie bars, and always attract a very mixed crowd of music lovers, musicians and party goers.
